Frequently Asked Questions

Our AfterBirth team is here to answer any questions you might have. Here are some of the Frequently Asked Questions we receive:

Our services are not dependent on insurance. Becoming a valued member of AfterBirth can help you to save on healthcare expenses. With traditional insurance plans, multiple sick visits with out-of-pocket co-pays and other service expenses can add up quickly. Our monthly membership of $39 guarantees high quality health care when you need it – without the hassle of large bills or hidden fees. Certain in-house or send out lab testing may incur a very small cost, but options will be discussed before proceeding. We do recommend retaining low-cost coverage for catastrophic events, specialist referral, and services not covered by the membership such as medications, non-office lab tests and imaging.

You already do! Sometimes, you are paying three or four times with once or twice a month insurance deductible plus co-pays plus costly service charges. The amount that you would pay for a year membership with unlimited visits to AfterBirth could equal one trip to the emergency room! Join our family and receive excellent healthcare for less than the price of a monthly cell phone bill.

Our Nurse Practitioner independently owns and operates AfterBirth. She is certified and licensed in primary care pediatrics and midwifery to provide the services offered. A collaborative relationship is maintained with a South Carolina licensed Medical Doctor who can be readily contacted for consultations as needed.

It’s good to be a part of AfterBirth. Between a rock and a hard place? Members can reach our provider directly. We make it work for you…because you are family!

If you have an urgent concern that cannot safely wait until the start of next business day, our provider can be reached by phone. If it is a life-threatening emergency, please dial 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

Currently, we do not. Offering vaccines at cash rate would be very costly to you. However, we advise on current schedule recommendations, and can refer you to a nearby vaccine location. Another option may be to order vaccines (based on availability) from your local pharmacy to administer in our office.

Patient safety remains of utmost concern to us. Between each appointment, we take time to clean all equipment, bed, and chairs thoroughly. As AfterBirth is a healthcare office, we ask that all eligible visitors (even if fully vaccinated) wear their masks during appointments. Thank you for helping us to keep everyone safe.
